This article is talking about the Tuesday fireside. The speaker was Professor Stanley A. Johnson. The talked about 4 steps to take in life to receive guidance and the companionship of the Holy Ghost. First was praying, second was to study and learn the gospel, live righteously and give service in the church. I know this is true because I have experienced in my life and it works!

Many people have success because they have support and determination in God. So they don't give up on their goals and dreams and usually succeed, or sometimes they have problems on their way and the spirit helps them a lot to become a better person and fight BUT not every succesful people is like that. Actually many really sucessful people are not religious or have faith in god. They just have a lot of determination and study a lot. They're smart and they succeed. A good example is my dad. He is not religious as my mom. But he is succesful. He has a major and a job, but his spirituality is poor. Maybe he is succesful at work but he has to work more in himself. I'm not really sure about spirituality meaning.. but if it is believen in God and having faith then i disagree, because this sometimes may be truth but there are a lot of cases were the spirituality really doesn't affect parts of their lives.

I think our thoughts control our actions. When people think negatively, they are likely to fall in depression and lethargy. Also, they will act negatively. For a professional success, people have to overcome many hardships. By thinking positively, they can not be frustrated and can surmount our difficulties.

We are in a world where the temptations are every where and any time and if we don´t pray, study our scriptures, choose the right and serve to the church we could go for wrong ways. We can´t accomplish our goals without the help of our Heavenly Father. Marja
ReplyDeleteProfessor Johnson gave a speech, and he talked 4 points which are pray, study and learn the gospel, live righteously and give service in the church. Johnson said to us if we followed these simple points, the spirit will always be present in their lives. He said several times that gospel is really simple, and he wants us to do some easy things everyday, such as: reading scriptures and pray...etc. He said By doing those things, We will be guided by the spirit. ReplyDeleteProfessor Johnson emphasized Romney’s four-point for students to meet in order to obtain and keep the guidance of the Spirit. these for points are pray, study and learn the gospel, live righteously and give service in the church. He explain each of the points in detail and also he said that if we follow these points we will go through this world successfully and the spirit will always be present in our lives.
