The owner of the book didn't know a suspect and she just worried that the suspect was one of the people who she had shown the book. The book was not in secure place, so, it was stolen. The current price of the book is 100,000 dollars, but experts assume the price will go up because it is very worthy.
ReplyDeleteI think that is a big responsibility to have a book like that because no only for the valued but for the importance that it has in the Mormon's community. Obviously if i have one book like that yes i would be the owner of the book because in the future it will cost a lot of money.

If I could choose to own a rare book or not, that is a hard question for me because they both have value and harm. For example, the value is you own a very worth thing, but the harm is you worry a lot about the worth thing. This principle is same to me on many ways. ReplyDeleteDefinitely. I would like to be an owner of a book like this. Having a first edition copy of the book of mormon would bring the past to the present. As a member of the church of jesus christ of latter day saints, having this book in my hands could be wonderful just because of the history. It would be great because now I have one that I can read and touch. I can feel the spirit closer to me while I read it, regardless if it is old or new.

I would like to have an old book like this for me to keep and give to my future children. For people that are LDS this is something great to keep, of a great value not about money but spiritually. I think that I would want a book like this to remind me of the sacrifices that those members did in the beginning of the church in the 1830's.

First edition Book of Mormon were printed in 1830 but now there are only about 500 copies left. Book of Mormon is extraordinary and still worth. Expert said by 2020 ordinary copies will sell estimate $250.000.

ReplyDeleteyes, I would like to own a rare book like the one described in the article because I could share this book with people that don't know about it and this would be a good testimony for them. Of course I had to be careful because it is so important and not every people would protect them.

I think the owner must be really sad, because she is a convert and still active in church, the book must be an really important collection for her. Of course, I would like to have a rare book if it is meaningful and valuable.
