  1. This article was talked about recent technology problem that BYU experienced. At that time, they wanted to upgrade their main software, but it wasn't work and than just freezing. Actually, we don't know exact cause about the problem. also, one of professors was trying to receiving online application by students, but program was freezing, students who want to apply the company didn't send a mail to him. The professor is worried about students who couldn't summit their application.

  2. 7 years ago, I went to Japan, and I took a lot of picture. and then I met a serious problem. some computer virus attacked my computer, so my all picture that took in japan was destroyed by virus. I thought that I needed to backup but I did not. It was my fault. these days, I always check computer virus and make a backup cd.

  3. Companying with high technology developing, people more and more depend on data. For me, data is really important, especially for my pictures and old emails. If my computer data have problem, I will lose the all my valuable memories. It can not be measured by money.

  4. If there were a technology problem, especially relating to public's data, it would be a serious concern. When I served military service, I usually worked as an administrative assistant. At that time, there was a great deal of data related to official work in my computer. One day, my computer was infected by virus, all the data was gone. I had to gather and build data base, and the accident distressed me.

  5. Sometime when I went to the library in BYU, I usually borrow a net book. but when I went to library a few days ago, I could borrow the net book. at that time I really felt bad and I was a little bit annoyed. then I realized that I am totally dependent on data.

  6. In these days a high percent of the population is related with data information, either directly or indirectly. When you have your own information on a computer like photos or personal information, is a directly way that you are using your own data. Is the same with companies or schools where you are working in or studying in, all your information have to be safe because that is important for them as for you and if you or they lose it, will be catastrophic. For me data are very important, that is why I have to do a back up every couple days, because I know that I depend so much on that. Data is part of my life and if I lose information, I will be in trouble.

  7. For me, all the data that I saved in my computer are very important, so I know that's a critical issue. I remembered many years ago, my hard disk was broken. I didn't have any backup, so I lost all the documents, tools and pictures. That was years ago, I was not be able to fix the problem, but technology keeps progressing, so now it's be able to restore hard disk. I know it's not same issue, but I think BYU will fix the problem.
