If this apps are used the right way (to edify) I think there's no reason to not use them. If this take our minds away from what we are listening and learning to, then is better to leave them home or in the car.

Nowadays we can see several people in sacrament or Sunday school on their smartphone or tablet. there are many gospel app. people can read scriptures, listening to hymns or watching church videos. Church member do not need bring anything about church. it is more convenient.
