Many students are worried about price of books, also they try to find cheaper price every time. BYU book store and one site are offering the use books and cheaper book for students.
ReplyDeleteI would prefer to rent books for college because is cheaper and since students have a short space to live renting a book will help me have more space for other stuff in my room.
ReplyDeleteI prefer to buy a new one because if I rented one, probably I would find that those books had the answers on them. And it isn't helpful at all. Also, with new books I can sell them and earn some money; maybe not the amount I spent on them but it's better than nothing.
ReplyDeleteI prefer to buy a new book for many reasons. First, i can write on my book whatever i want and it can be helpful for my own study. Second, no every body can remember what they do at the first year of college, so a book that i bought can be help if i want to see again something that i did in the another hand if i take a rent book i have to return and if i need to see something it can be difficult because i need to go to the library and remember in what book i did the work that i want to find. in my opinion there are more reasons that can be better buy a book than rent.

This article talked about that many students ask themselves if it is better to buy textbooks and sell them back later or just rent. it is depend on circumstance, some student buy new textbook and sell them back later. but if there is coming new edition, the price would reduce. some students did not get back money as they would hope.
ReplyDeleteThis article mention some good advantages and disadvantages getting new or rental textbooks. I prefer to rent textbooks because first, if I want to keep them in the middle or whatever time of the semester I can look for new one. Second, it is cheaper to rent them than buy them. Marja
ReplyDeleteFor me it depent because if this book is very interesting for me I prefer that it can be new. but if it is just normal to me, it does not matter if it has answers. I can used an eraser. Jennifer Bradford
ReplyDeleteI prefer to buy a used book for two reasons. First, if I bought used book, I would save a money. So I can buy another materials. Second, most used book has a taking note. I think that sometimes it is very useful because it is an explanation of question and summary.
ReplyDeleteI would prefer to rent some textbooks and buy some textbooks. It would depend on how much those books cost and would I want to keep them. I would like to rent if the price are cheaper. Also, I don't like to keep too many books that I never touch again. On the other hand, I like to but my major books because I might use in the future. In addition, I like to buy some used books because their are cheap. Randy Lin
ReplyDeleteI prefer to rent text books better because it is cheaper. I will only buy textbooks only when I want to keep them. Another reason is I move almost every year, and I do not want to have too many personal belongings.
ReplyDeleteDepends on the classes, I would buy my textbooks for the classes that I like and I would like to keep them for future or if they are worth to keep. And I would rent the rest of the books that I need to have for the classes but I probably will not keep them. Especially, books are really expensive in the states, I need to calculate my money more carefully.

This article described the choice of buying or renting textbooks in every new semester. Largely, students will consider the cost of textbooks and how long they keep textbooks. After thinking about the two factors, they decide to buy or rent them. With the advent of technology, they have more options for and search to meet their needs for textbooks.
