  1. This article talked about the increase of bike theft. Bike theft increased 50 percent of that from previous two weeks. To prevent this problem, police encourages people who have a bicycle to register their bicycle by paying just one dollar. Also, it is important to lock up a bike with a strong lock that is impossible to break such as U-Lock.

  4. I think the only thing can be done is to register your bike in the provo police offices, get a serial number, and be really smart and lock your bike everyday! it only takes a few seconds to look it, don't risk your bike that way. I think police officers should be rounding bike parking and watch out other upcoming thefts.

  5. In Italy this problem is very common and the only advice is to buy a strong lock and to tie at light poles or in every part that can be difficult to steal.

  10. I do not think there is any way to stop these bicycle thefts, but can reduce them,if can let the thieves make a huge restitution. The serial number is also a good way to reduce those things happen.

  13. This article talks about there were more bike stolen in the past two weeks and it was 50 percent increase than before. Some people they lock their bike everyday, but one day they didn't lock it because they were leaving for only a couple of hours, and their bike were stolen. And one student suggests to use U-lock because it makes bikes hard to steal. and always lock your bike. I think we can only always lock our bike and put them in our garage to prevent these bicycle thefts. In Taiwan, if your bike was stolen, it's not possible to get it back, and some people they separate bikes right away.

I think owners have to be aware to lock their bicycles after they have used it. I know it is not fair that someone steal your bike but from my point of view we are responsibles of our acts.
