"We are always interested in data helping us make future decisions. Some people prefer to rely on their gut--or their personal feelings about the future. Is 'data' or 'feeling' more important to you in predicting the future?
I believe that data is the best way to know who is the one that is going to be the next president because is base on real facts. On the other hand some people want to trust their personal feeling. But I believe that information is not accurate and you cant trust it. Some times is just luck that people guess how is going to be the next president.
ReplyDeleteI think It’s depends on situations. In financial case, I will follow many data. For example, let’s think about stock market. Before you buy a stock, you have to check its chart. That can be very helpful. In contrast, something related in people, my answer is changed. In this case, I prefer to choose my feeling. I mean I will follow my feeling in many people.
ReplyDeleteI cannot say which way I prefer because I usually use them both. When I need to predict the future, I usually collect many datas, but I may not always follow the "suggestion" what data tell. Therefore, it is a tricky question for me, and I have to say, Data and feeling are both important to me in making my future decisions.

ReplyDeleteI believe in using feeling to predict the future, but the precondition is you are familiar with this field and have no personal benefits in it. Human's brain is more efficient than any computer, and the "feeling" actually is the result that based on the data analysis of our brain.

ReplyDeleteThe presedential election brought interesting ways to predict who will be the next presedent. For instance, 7-11 has started early voting since September and coffee drinkers chose Obama,on the other hand Romney's face solded more than Obama's face as a hollaween costum. Another interesting way to vote early was in sport feild; it calls redskins rule. Truimph of redskins represents Obama's victory, however the game turned the other direction. Students wanted to participate in prediction of the election too. Their voices were for Obama. Finally, astrologists controversed on Romney and Obama.
ReplyDeleteAs far as I'm concern, I think the data is better important in order to predict the future. Sometimes we prefer to rely in our guts, but it can be a wrong. Taking a decision considering data or feelings depends of a specific situation. I have much respect to my emotions and feelings.
ReplyDeleteData is definitely more important to me. Data is very useful when it comes to personal informations, economical issues and even for a presidential election. Sometimes, data is reliable and help us make good decision. Other times, a little bit of personal feeling is essential to make a decision stronger. When data fits, I always use it to predict the future.

I'm concerned data is more important than feelings to predict the future because data represents a measurable people's opinions that is factible to know the tendency of any group. Knowing this fact, I prefer to believe in an official data instead of my feeling or others' feelings.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, people should choose the current fact to predict the future; however, it is hard in reality because majority of people are less rational. I like to know the result that is what i like. People's feeling show the reality of their inside.It is nature and reasonable.
