  1. I agree with the author's advice. One of my advise is enjoy living in the new place and seeing the positive aspect everyday. This kind of thinking has helped a lot because it makes me feel grateful for the resources, experiences and facilities that I have now. Even though, it is less than my country. However, a positive attitude could change the way how we appreciate the life, and the new experiences of living alone.

  2. This story is how to adapt in another country very well. It was really good advice, because I have same situation, too. I’m from South Korea, so I am an international student on the ELC. Actually, since I got into my university, I’ve lived alone so far. Now, I am so comfortable even without my parents. I am just enjoying my life. I want to say one more thing. It is to be positive. When I am in my room alone, I feel lonely. However, I believe it is time to develop you or think about yourself, too. It is right time to do it. You can’t avoid the situation, just enjoy it!

  3. I agree with her suggestions because sometimes we feel that we can do things by ourself and ''leave the nest'' but it is because we are used to be surrounded by our family. One day, we will have to live by ourself and be independent. On that day we will need to have the responsibility to survive alone and to do all of our duties. And that it is going to be possible if we keep in mind why we are far of them, that we need to grow up and understand that the experience of being alone will turn us more mature.

  4. The article is about how to adjust in a new country. The author says that is really important to have a positive attitude because if you don't, it will be really hard for international students who are living by themselves. Plus, you should try hard to find new friends, otherwise you are going to feel lonely.

  5. I completely agree with the article, because even do I lived here in the US for two years while I was on my mission. Now I have to adjust to new circumstances and to find new friends on how I can relied on. I have seen that if you have a positive attitude every thing goes a lot better. Also remembering my purpose to be here and all the thing that I went through it helps me to become exited again and do all my best I can.

  6. An Indonesian student shared her experience to live apart from her family and study in the US as an international student. She advised that stay in touch your family, technology makes the distance shorter, find friends and participate activities, social life helps to be motivated, and remember your reason to be here.

  7. In my opinion what this article is about is totally true. When I was a child I came to the U.S a lot of time but just for vacation. Now, is the real thing. Now, I'm here because I want to study here and that's my reason but the only problem was make new friends. Because now I have the best friend ever. This time here I learn that having a positive attitude will give you more that what you spec. I know that everybody have homesick sometimes but is part of the process of growing up.

  8. The author's advice is right but not enough. Whenever you come to a new place, it is not difficult have a lot of friends, especially for young people in school, because you have classmates. And maybe you would find your love soon, that is another good idea to learn being independent.

  9. This article is about an Indonesian student who is sharing her experience living far from her family. But she has economic resources. It is not the same with other students.
I have learned to live without my parents since I was nineteen years old, and I think that is the best way in order to be a mature person. Only who have lived far from her or his parents can understand it. It is very hard in the beginning, but is necessary.

  10. I totally agree with the author. Living in another country as a international student is not easy. There will be a lot of unexpected obstacles. It will be hard to solve the problems. However being a positive person is a one major key.

  11. I totally agree with the author's advice for international students. When we are far away from our family, it is very hard to adapt to new circumstances especially when we are not used to that. I can tell you from experience, it is difficult. As she said the most important is to stay motivated. I would urge international students to use wisely any opportunity that can help them stay focus. When our mind is connected only to our hometown, sometimes we miss wonderful opportunities that could help us not only with our studies but also with our lives in general.

  13. I agree with the author's advice for international students learning to live independently. Living in a different country or even in a different state or city far away from home can be challenging but it is always a good learning experience. Students need to learn new things, make their own decisions, learn to manage the time, money and all resources. Also it can be a good preparation for marriage!

  14. I agree with that advice which is international students should learn to live independently. I can't imagine to live with my whole family. I can accept to live with my brother but not my family. If possible, every child should have their own bedroom because everyone likes their own space. Randy Lin
