  1. I agree with the author of this article. It's much more important telling the freshmen what they can learn instead of telling them how to escape from hard studying! In my opinion, to go to college means to learn specialty, even specialties, but to buy a degree.

  3. I would say onething on this article. We go to a college to learn new things and have a good knowledge. It is not only to get good grades and high degrees. Personally, I prefer to have a qualified education because knowledge is only thing that no one can steal from you.

  4. I really agree with the author's statement. For that reason I think students have to make more importants conversations because now students are turning lazy, and for that reason they think that only for go class, or for do de assignments that they have to do they are going lo learn, and that is a lie, because if you want to learn you have to do more than the things that your teachers give you. If the students do as best as they can they are going to learn perfectly and they are going to be successful in their lives.

  5. I'm disagree, because it can help you hear other comments and opinions about the topic you are studying. Secondly, help classmates with some details you know that they don't know it help to memorize them better. Otherwise, be more social and get more friends in a classroom is funnier and helpful, even outside classes.

  6. I agree with the autor because knowledge is very important to us. Grades aren't the main reason why people should study, even when the majority seems just care about it. Maybe students don't realize how important is to study for life when they're in college, but eventually they will.

  7. I believe that this is true because sometimes we think that if can pass the classes without much effort that’s good enough, but we have to be always looking to learn more and do all that we can to apply some of the things that we learn. Because we can get bad consequences after we finish school and when we are working we might not know how to respond before some of the challenges that we could learn how to solve when we were in college.

  8. “Education is more than jumping through the hoops of class, homework, and exams – it is an intellectual adventure, a way to equip yourself with the tools necessary to change the world”.

Really? Most of the people who have changed the world (Gates, Jobs, Ford) learned how to make it without go the school. It is true that in the school they got knowledge, but also it is true that they changed many things in the world because these people had great skills.
Today, almost students that attend to colleges and universities just have only one goal in mind: to get a degree and a great job. This is very simple to understand.

  9. I like this article because she recommends the most important foundation things for class in college. I totally agree with that because we are not machine for study. The filling of knowledge is not enough to learn. I am thinking about the question, "How should I feel about my education?" My friends said, "ELC is super boring. It is not interesting to me. I felt the same as well. That is my English is a little improved. I will try to enjoy the class and say "I learned this awesome thing today." or "That test was great" like this. Even though my friends said, "Are you ok? I think you are getting crazy." I agree with this article. We should stop to complain about our class for ourselves. I will forget the TOEFL grade when I am study English.

  10. I agree with the author's opinion that"education is not the filling the pail, but the lighting the fire". We should be willing to learn rather than finishing the tasks. This article made me think about our country's education. It is similar with my country. We do a lot to deal with the final exam; however, when we have to apply ourselves, we have problems. So we should enjoy to learn and share our learning.

  11. I agree with this writer's opinion. I feel that things before college were quite easy but now it's little bit different. I believe that hard work is the key to success in college. Education is important and we shouldn't waste by not doing the classwork.

  12. I believe in education so I agree with the author that students should assumed a different attitude about their education. As a BYU students we should feel privilege because of the quality of education, the preparation of the teachers and the many resources the school offers to the students. Besides that BYU offers spiritual education witch it is difficult to find in others schools. Personally I feel very blessed with the opportunity of being at the ELC and excited about learn English.

  13. I think most students go to college to get a degree. Actually, these days, college degree is really important to get a better job after graduate from college. In addition, some students who are arround me look happy when they get a good grade not when they learn new thing. I hope students should enjoy learning new things first more then just get a degree.
