This article describes the recent opening of one of Provo's newest apartment complexes The Village which was recently completed. The Village is unique because of its amenities, proximity to campus, and represents a change towards more modern housing at BYU. Absolutely not!!! I am too busy to use all of the amenities offered by an apartment complex like The Village. While some students may be attracted by the social scene at the Village, I would rather live in a simple apartment where the roommates are focused on studying not playing.
ReplyDeleteThe most important thing to choice an apartment are the basic utilities, especially if is into a university. Amenities are not necessary to study, nevertheless if a lot of students like it or not. Pool indoor? is it essential to be a great student?, absolutely not. We have many examples of poor students that without amenities, became excellent professionals. Ronald
ReplyDeletemaybe I will pay for it, but i don't think there are enough people who want to pay for this kind of apartment. I don't think it is a good business. Students are not so rich and free that they can enjoy these apartments. If this village is for families, maybe it is better, because most of the time, families can afford this price, and they want to live confortable.
ReplyDeleteI'm like a foreign student is not really relevant to spend this money in a luxury apartment. Also for me is really not necessary have all the amenities that The Village offers to its residents for this reason I consider that you can spend your money in other stuff that is more important for your life that in a modern and luxury apartment. In my opinion a good student does not need to have multiple game rooms, indoor pool, hot tub or all of amenities that The Village has, to be a good person and student you only need disposition and put a lot of effort in the things that you do everyday. ReplyDeleteMaybe a lot of students don't like this kind of apartments, but I think there are some demand for this kind of properties, so that they built this village. There are some rich students who want are looking for more comfortable place, but there is not so many nice apartments, these students can afford the price, that is a big market opportunities. Totally, it is a good business.
ReplyDeleteAbout this kind of modern complexes, I think it's not only about worth it or not, but also about need it or not. Those attractive amenities (especially multiple game rooms!) is necessary to people who care about their life qualities a lot. However, to people like me, it's definitely not worth it to live in such apartment complexes. I have to study and work every day that I won't have much time to us them. Plus, I believe I can have much fun without those amenities!

Although it is nice to have new modern apartment complexes, I prefer to live in an apartment that is comfortable and cheap. As you know, students spend a lot of money on tuition, insurance, food, and entertainment, etc. In addition, married students who have children have extra costs. Therefore, I would rather pay less to live in an "OK" place.
ReplyDeleteIf you're looking for good amenities and you have conditions to pay for it, I think it's worth it. The Village offers private rooms and grocery market, making you more focused while you're studying and saving time because you don't have to go too far to go shopping. Plus, when you need to take a rest, the others amenities helps you with that.

ReplyDeleteI think It’s depends on size of the complexes. In my opinion, big size complexes need to some astounding amenities. In opposite side, small size complexes don’t need to those things, because the residents who live in there have to pay a lot of money. When you are looking for housing, you should make your plan that if you enjoy the facilities or not. If you want to use these things, you had better make a contract with big size complexes. If you are busy every day or don’t need to do that, you should make a contract with small or middle size complexes. – Scott Park
ReplyDeleteI think that when you are in college is not necessary to live in a fancy place unless you have a lot of money. If you can have all the necessary things in a small aparment and is cheaper I think thats good enough. But then when you finish college you can buy a fancy house.
ReplyDeleteI will probably rent this kind of housings only if I were a millionare. First of all, I came here for study not for swimming, make wild parties, or something that wouldn't let me stay focused on what came mainly. But, for wealthy people that is the way they used to live in their foreign cities, with extra amenities, expensive cars, special food, etc. I respect them, and even more when they invite me to their housing to play video games, this season I got a friend to live in The Village, now I know where to go if I'm bored at home. Finally, to be honest I can not afford this housing it's really expensive and if I'm a focus student I wouldn't use all the amenities.

ReplyDeleteIs very nice to have new apartments like The Villege, is good for the students, is good for the neighborhood, and is good for for the economy at City Provo. It is good for me pay more for a nice apartment, that offer a good enviroment for education, utilities and fun.
The Village sounds to be a good place to live. I will totally paid more for a complex that offers all the amenities this complex offers like a pool, a market, gym, etc. I think that living in a nice, clean and new apartment will make my studying easier than if I live in a old building like many here in Provo. For students that don't own a car, this complex offers lots of entertainment and facilities to have a social life witch is important especially for foreign students with no family around to spent the weekends and free time.
ReplyDeleteI think that is not necessary to live in a fancy place when you are in college, because is not going to be your house for ever but when you finish college and you have a good job you can find a fancy house and have all the luxury that you wanted.
